From the Sacred Heart Home (Katpadi): Prayer for Peace

17 settembre 2013

peace2On hearing about the sufferings of our brethren in Syria, Special prayers were offered for the restoration of peace in the country. We conscientised our candidates of the sufferings of the poor people in Syria. Intensive prayers were said the whole day.

At 6.00pm A special Rosary was conducted offering a decade for each country. Syria, Israel, Damascus, Russia and U.S.A. Carrying placards and oil lamps which were placed at the feet of our Blessed Mother invoking her intercession for peace in these countries.

This was followed by the Eucharistic Celebration. The Celebrant Fr. Sathyaseelan SDB gave us a summary of the situation in Syria, encouraging us all to pray for peace and brotherhood. At the prayer of the faithful. We remembered to pray for Syria and the neighbouring countries and that the leaders of USA and Russia may collaborate to bring peace and harmony in Syria.

peace 3At 9.15pm an hour of Eucharistic Adoration was organized. We acknowledged our weaknesses through the penitential prayers. Messages of peace given by great Leaders and Popes were read and reflected. We focused on the gospel of St. John on the peace of Christ. There were moments of prayers shared by us to pray for peace within our hearts, among ourselves and our fellowmen in Syria. We winded our Adoration Service in deep prayer imploring the Risen Lord to grant us that true peace which Syria and the whole world is longing for today.
