To the youth of the Salesian Youth Movement

6 gennaio 2011

Dear Friends of the Salesian Youth Movement!

I give you my best wishes and prayers for this new year 2011.

If last year we “want(ed) to see Jesus”, this year we are invited and we invite other youth to “Come and See”. This is the message of Don Pascual Chávez in the Strenna 2011. I invite everyone to discover this message.

In the Strenna message, there is a part addressed to us. The Salesian Youth Movement is called to be a school of life, where life is discovered as a gift and a call, in the characteristic salesian joy!

I wish the best for all the projects of the Salesian Youth Movement in the different parts of Europe and of the world. Let us continue our friendship across borders.

We have a very big event coming up: The World Youth Days in Madrid this summer!

We will have the joy of meeting each other, 10 000 of us belonging to the Salesian Youth Movement all over the world, at the SYM Festival on the 17th of August 2011. I am sure that we are looking forward to this extraordinary experience.

Good luck to all for the preparation of each country! SYM Spain is preparing to welcome us. Thank you, friends of SYM Spain, for your preparations and hospitality.

May God help us and give us the joy of Don Bosco and of the other Salesian saints who have taught us that real joy comes from friendship with God.

With love.

David Viagulasamy
